The CSR work program is structured, systematic and sustainable. As a foundation for thinking, the program looks at the concept of human development holistically which includes knowledge, insight, mental, spiritual, competence, and equal opportunity.
Furthermore, the Company seeks to strengthen the role of corporate citizenship. Therefore, the Company also runs local community development programs as part of CSR activities. The target recipients in particular are families and communities classified as underprivileged, so that they can be empowered and able to help themselves.
The Company’s CSR programs are divided into categories:
Social
The social category includes the sub-categories of education, health and religion. The forms of CSR activities in the education sub-category include scholarship programs, school supplies donations, construction and renovation of educational facilities such as school buildings, and organizing educational activities themselves such as early childhood education and kindergarten programs at factories.
Meanwhile, CSR programs in the health sub-category have routine activities such as free medical treatment (clinics), and blood drives in cooperation with the Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia/PMI). Additionally, the Arwana Peduli program also organizes activities at social homes (orphanages, nursing homes, psychiatric rehabilitation centers, and others). In the religion sub-category, activities include construction and renovation of houses of worship, free homecoming, donation of sacrificial cattle, and others.
The Company has also donated ceramic tiles in increasingly larger volumes year by year to various institutions for social purposes, and cooperated with institutions such as the Indonesian Armed Forces and NGOs in carrying out renovations of uninhabitable homes of underprivileged families.
On October 19, 2017, the Company established the Arwana Jaya Table Tennis Club (Persatuan Tenis Meja Arwana Jaya) with the purpose of participating in the development of sports in Indonesia, the sport of table tennis in particular. This initiative was followed by the establishment of its training and boarding center which was inaugurated on January 21, 2019.
Economy
The company directly contributes to the economic development of localcommunities through the establishment of factories in locations that are generally underdeveloped. These contributions include the construction or repair of infrastructure such as roads and bridges, as well as the opening of employment opportunities. The presence of the Company also supports the emergence of business activities around the factories. Furthermore, the Company also contributes to the entrepreneurial empowerment of communities through the empowerment of micro, small and medium enterprises, and by donating unused production output to be creatively reprocessed and sold.
